The grey clouds of winter have lifted and summer is on it’s way. We’ve had a fluster of activity in both Designmades lately with many a presentation of all the latest stunning collections featuring beautiful punchy colours, many combining a bit of sparkle.
The new Mathew Williamson designs for Osborne & Little show a ‘refined but spirited sense of glamour’ with some fabulous strong patterns and rich luxurious colours. Tiny beads, holographic foils and metallic inks embellish this collection creating a wonderful range of gorgeous fabrics and wallpapers.

Designers Guild and Harlequin are another couple of companies who have recently released fabulous collections with a special metallic zing. Designers Guild Alexandria Wallpapers feature amongst others, a ‘beautiful antiqued ombre shaded damask and a stunning metallic plaster effect’. While Harlequin’s Leonida Collection ‘evokes a spirit of faded grandeur’ with their stunning array of sumptuous embossed velvets and wallpapers. These fabrics and papers are just beautiful and stand out amongst the sea of ‘subtle’ without becoming clownish.
